Using Adobe Audition, a USB microphone, and a pop filter mask, I developed a podcast brand for myself and recorded one 10-minute-long episode.
Unpopular POVcast derived from my own experiences of having an untraditional outlook on life. Its purpose is being vocal about living your adult life your own way; and breaking the adulting stigma. i.e. that we need to know what we’re doing, or have a plan/timeline that follows what we’ve been taught to know, and so on.
Before recording, I wrote an invisible script, and found ambient audio, as well as the perfect background music for the POVcast. I then recorded audio through Audition and edited it so it stopped promptly at 10 minutes, while also ensuring there were no jarring sounds from the recording. I then added the sound effects and exported the audio file for posting to SoundCloud.

This mini documentary was made not only to show my ability to tell a story, but to visualize and produce by filming, sound, and editing for a final product.
There’s a lot of rich history in my family, which involves a great heirloom that we all get to use today – the family cabin. In the late 70’s and early 80’s, my grandparents decided to build a cabin that the family gets to use every summer for their own small getaways.
For the story, I’d planned to use images from my grandma Dorothy’s photo albums as B-roll while my dad talked about the cabin and his stories behind building it.
During production, I filmed my dad and interviewed him. He was the star of the show, and verbally illustrated everyone and everything involved, while the B-roll supports what he’s talking about throughout the documentary. I recorded his voice using Adobe Audition and a USB microphone. For filming, I secured my camera to a tripod and set up the lighting using a key light, backlight, and fill light.
After production, I edited the footage using Adobe Premiere Pro, then imported the edited audio from Adobe Audition to combine the video with the audio. It was then exported and uploaded to YouTube for viewing.
